I finally cracked the case of the singing dishwasher in my building

The sound was coming from a loose drain hose vibrating against the cabinet. I secured it with a zip tie, and now it's quiet as a mouse.

Secure that hose well. Zip ties can get brittle from dishwasher heat and steam. A metal hose clamp is a more permanent fix. Mine came loose again when a zip tie snapped. Check it in a few months to be sure.

Ugh, my dryer belt squeaked like that last month.

I always thought zip ties were fine for stuff like that. But I had one fail on a hot water line under my sink, so I get the warning now. I'm switching to clamps for anything that gets warm.
