Had a customer yesterday who questioned why I even needed a multimeter
Guy insisted I could just tell what's wrong by looking at his washing machine, like I'm some kind of appliance psychic. I spent 10 minutes explaining how voltage readings tell me things his eyes can't, and he still looked skeptical. Anyone else run into customers who think we're just guessing instead of actually testing things?

Oh man, that's too relatable... I had a guy once ask me why I needed to plug my meter in before I could tell him his dryer wasn't heating. I joked that maybe I should just wave a magic wand over his appliances instead, and he actually paused like he was considering it. People don't realize that looking at something can't show you if there's voltage or a broken connection... it's like asking a chef to taste your soup through the can.

Saw an article saying most appliance issues are just loose wires or bad connections.
