Had a customer insist his dryer was possessed
Old guy calls me out to his basement. Says the dryer starts by itself at 3am. I check everything, timer, door switch, motor. Nothing. He's telling me it's ghosts. I'm thinking he's crazy. Turns out his cat was climbing on the control panel. 4am every night. Cat fat enough to press the start button. Never saw that before.

My neighbor had the same issue with her cat and the dishwasher of all things. We stuck a piece of cardboard over the controls at night and that stopped it cold. Took about a week before the cat stopped trying. Also put some double sided tape on the counter near the panel which cats hate stepping on. Solved the whole thing without any ghost hunting or expensive repairs.

Our old cat did the same thing. Weighs like 15 pounds too. Jumped on the microwave buttons at night once. Woke us up to popcorn at 2am. Cats are little gremlins with fur.

Figured I was the only one who thought cats were chill animals. But after reading this I’m starting to see they’re basically tiny chaotic roommates with a death wish. Guess I was wrong about them being low maintenance.
