Went to a community garden workshop and smelled something off in their compost bins
I visited the Elm Street garden last Saturday for a composting class, and three of their five bins had this awful sour smell like rotten eggs. The instructor said they added too much wet food waste without enough browns, and the pile went anaerobic. Has anyone else run into a stinky bin issue that made you rethink your own apartment setup?

Oh man, raccoons are like the neighborhood's unpaid cleanup crew, aren't they? I feel for your neighbor though. My own compost bin has been raided so many times I'm pretty sure those little bandits have a standing reservation at my place. Last time I tried to shoo one away, he just looked at me like I was the one being rude. Honestly, at this point I think they're better at managing my food scraps than I am. Your mileage may vary, but maybe tell your neighbor to just consider it a donation to the local wildlife fund.
