Thought the freezer trick was nonsense, then my bokashi bucket stopped smelling in 2 days
I kept putting my fruit scraps straight into the bokashi bin and the smell was rough after about a week. Someone here said freeze everything for 48 hours first. Seemed like a waste of freezer space but I tried it with a batch of banana peels and coffee grounds. Two days in and zero funk, the bran is breaking it down faster too. Now I keep a gallon bag in the freezer door and dump it in on Sunday nights. Anyone else notice frozen scraps break down quicker, or am I just getting lucky with this one bucket?
