That shared bin on the 3rd floor landing changed my whole setup
Back in 2019 I lived in a walkup in Chicago with no balcony and no space for a worm bin. My neighbor two doors down kept a little 5 gallon bucket with a lid outside her door, just kitchen scraps and shredded paper. I asked her about it one day and she showed me how she layered dry stuff on top every time she added food, zero smell, even in July. That was the first time I realized you don't need fancy gear or a special system, just a container and some common sense. Has anyone else had a neighbor or a building common area that made the whole thing click for them?
