Rant: my bokashi bin leaked all over the kitchen floor last Tuesday
I came home to a puddle of fermented juice under the counter and had to scrub the grout with a toothbrush before my landlord saw the stain has anyone else had a bucket crack on them mid-cycle?

Yeah but I think you might be blaming the wrong thing here. Those plastic bins usually hold up fine unless they get banged around or left in the sun too long. More likely the lid seal just gave out (common issue when the rubber gasket dries out) and the liquid found its way out through the seam rather than a crack.

Gaskets are cheap and easy to replace, but nobody checks the weep holes on the lid. Most of those bins have a tiny drainage slot molded into the rim that lets condensation out, but if it gets clogged with dirt or debris, water builds up inside the lid channel and forces its way past the seal. I've also seen people overtighten the lid clips, which warps the plastic just enough to break the seal where you'd never see it.

Wait, have you actually seen the weep holes clog up and cause that issue, @amy975? I've replaced a lot of these gaskets over the years and it's almost always the rubber just drying out and cracking, not the plastic warping from the clips. I guess I just don't run into that drainage problem very often in my experience.
