PSA: I was adding way too many coffee grounds for months

My bin started smelling like a gym locker in my Chicago studio, and a friend asked if I was overloading the 'greens'. Anyone else fix a smell by cutting back on one specific thing?

Tbh I did the same thing with banana peels, my kitchen smelled like a rotten fruit stand for weeks.

My compost bin once smelled so bad my cat gave me a look of pure judgment (and that cat has seen some things). Turns out I was treating coffee grounds like they were free confetti at a parade. Dialed that back hard, and the smell cleared up in a few days. It's wild how one little thing can throw the whole balance off. I guess my bin just wanted less of a caffeine buzz.
