Found out my 'no smell' compost was lying to me for 6 weeks
Turns out my countertop bin with the charcoal filter was actually just masking the smell until I opened it. I moved it next to my radiator on a cold Tuesday and the whole kitchen smelled like a dumpster behind a Trader Joe's in Portland. The real fix was grinding my scraps smaller and mixing in shredded paper from my office mail, not buying another fancy lid. Anyone else discover their setup was hiding the problem instead of solving it?
