Dehydrator vs freezer method for smell control...
I dropped $120 on a electric dehydrator to dry out my scraps before storing, but after 3 months I'm wondering if just freezing everything in a paper bag would have worked just as well for zero cost. The dehydrator keeps smells down for sure but it's loud and takes up counter space, and my neighbor uses the freezer method with no complaints. Anyone else find the upfront gadget cost worth it, or is the simple solution actually better?

I grabbed a used dehydrator off Facebook Marketplace for $40 and it was a game changer for my stash. The freezer method left my scraps kinda mushy and the smell still crept out after a couple weeks. So yeah, the upfront cost was worth it for me, but I'd say try a cheap used one before dropping full price on a new model.

Freezer method works fine if you vacuum seal it first.
