Visited the Cyberpunk 2077 immersive exhibit in Tokyo last month and was blown away by something weird
I went to this small anime-related pop-up in Shibuya that had a whole section dedicated to the anime adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077. What caught me off guard was how many people were just standing there watching the background NPCs loop on the screens instead of looking at the actual art displays. Like I counted maybe 15 people glued to a single monitor showing a bike moving in a circle. Idk if it's the animation quality or just people zoning out but it felt like everyone was more into the small details than the big pieces. Has anyone else noticed this at anime exhibits where the crowd focuses on weird random stuff instead of the main attractions?

Shibuya crossing last year had this Ghibli pop up that literally had a queue of 20 people waiting to watch a single dust particle animation loop on a wall. My friend dragged me through the main exhibit hall in five minutes because I kept stopping to stare at the background foliage texture on a screen that was just supposed to be filler. It's wild how the tiny background details end up being the real draw when the artists clearly spent more time on them than the main displays lol.

Pick your battles and tell your friend to meet you at the exit so you can actually enjoy the art.
