Subbed vs dubbed rewatch, do not skip the sub this time
I did a side by side comparison last week with two episodes of the same show, one sub one dub. The dubbed version cut out like 40% of the cultural jokes and the timing felt off on every punchline. I wasted 3 days being mad at the writing before I realized it was the localization, not the source material. If you are new to anime, please watch the sub first, then try the dub after as a fun second pass. Has anyone else caught a show being ruined by a bad dub that you thought was just bad?

Tbh same thing happened to me with my favorite show. Dub totally killed the jokes.
