I stopped reading anime forums to avoid arguments over best girls. Now when friends quote memes from shows, I have no idea what they're saying. How do you stay in the loop without getting dragged into fan wars?

Seriously, I heard a podcast talk about this exact thing last week. They said our brains get stuck in this loop trying to make sense of nonsense arguments online. Like, you watch a funny video but then the comments are full of people fighting about politics. It totally wrecks the good mood. Skipping that mess is the only way to enjoy stuff now.
