Got roasted at my local anime club meetup in Toledo for saying I skip openings, and now I actually watch them
Last Thursday I hit the anime club meetup at the library in Toledo, and during the group chat a guy said if you skip openings you're not really watching the show. Everyone laughed and nodded, and I just sat there with my 200 plus episodes of One Piece watched at 1.5x speed. I told them I skip to save time, and this girl said the opening is the show telling you how to feel before each episode. Honestly she had a point, so for the past week I've sat through every OP and actually noticed stuff I missed before. Am I the only one who used to skip them, or do you all watch every single time?
I read somewhere that openings cost a ton to make, so studios pack in spoilers and hints as a reward for people who sit through them every week. The "show telling you how to feel" thing is real too, I catch way more foreshadowing now that I stopped hitting the skip button.
