Dropped a sub after 40 episodes, the pacing finally got me

I was on episode 41 of a popular isekai last Tuesday, sitting in my usual spot at the library near the window. The show had been dragging for like 10 episodes straight, but I kept telling myself it would get better because everyone raves about it. Then the main character spent a whole episode describing a healing potion recipe, and I just closed the tab. I realized I was watching out of habit, not enjoyment, and that felt worse than dropping it early. On one hand, finishing a series gives you closure and lets you join the full discussion, even if you hate it. On the other, life is short and my backlog has 200+ shows I actually want to see. Has anyone else forced themselves through a terrible season just to say you finished it, or did you bail and feel relieved? I want to know which side actually ends up happier.
