Vent: my fridge died right before my tamale party

Lost a full freezer of chile and posole last Tuesday, about $80 worth of food, right when I was prepping for 12 guests. Ended up borrowing a cooler from a coworker and running to Sam's Club for ice at 7am. Has anyone else had a major appliance fail at the worst possible timing in ABQ?

Last year my water heater blew a gasket the day before Thanksgiving, so I feel this so hard lol. You did good with the cooler and ice, but here's a tip for next time: buy dry ice at the Price's on San Mateo if you can. It kept my freezer food solid for a full day and a half, way better than regular ice. Also, check your home warranty if you have one, mine covered a temp rental fridge from Beems for a week. Honestly, the tamale party saved by going to Sam's early is a win in my book, just takes a few days to feel like it.
