The old clock at the downtown library bugs me and I'll say why
Went into the main library downtown last week to kill an hour while my truck was getting tires, and that big clock in the lobby caught my eye. Everyone treats it like some kind of treasure, but the thing hasn't shown the right time since I can remember, it's been sitting about 4 minutes slow for years. I asked the desk lady about it and she laughed and said it's been like that since before she started, 11 years ago. Here's where I disagree with folks: people keep saying it adds charm and I think that's a cop out. A clock that's wrong is just broken, charm or not, and we can't seem to keep it running. A city that can't fix a clock in its own library, what does that say? Am I the only one who notices this or does it bug anyone else?
