Question about the mosquito dunks at the hardware store on Eubank
I dumped a whole dunk in my rain barrel in April and by July I still had larvae swimming around, because I never realized you're supposed to crumble the thing up so it spreads through the water instead of just floating in one spot. The guy at the counter on Eubank told me one dunk treats about 100 square feet of surface, not one barrel, which explains a lot. Anyone else make this mistake or is it just me?
Same here, @gracea19, I used to just drop the whole thing in the pot and call it done. Then someone told me crumbling it lets the flavor spread out instead of sitting in one clump, and once I tried it I never went back. It really does make a difference in the final taste.
