PSA: The guy at the Frontier on Central told me I was wrong about green chile and he was right
I've been putting green chile on everything since I moved here in 2019, eggs, burgers, pizza, you name it. Last Thursday I'm sitting at the Frontier on Central and this older guy at the next table watches me dump it on my cinnamon roll and just says, "That's not how it works, mijo." I laughed it off but then he explained that green chile is for savory stuff and if I actually want to taste it I should try it plain off a spoon first, and honestly it made me mad because he was right. I tried it his way the next morning and the roast flavor hit me in a way it never had when it was buried under cheese and eggs. So now I'm wondering, am I the only transplant here who's been covering up the actual taste of our best food this whole time?
