Paid $350 for a driveway sealcoat that peeled in 3 weeks

Hired a guy off Craigslist who said he'd been doing sealcoat for 15 years. He sprayed it on a Tuesday morning, looked great for a week, then started flaking off in chunks near the curb. Called him back and he said it was 'normal curing' and to wait. It's been a month now and half the drive looks like a bad sunburn. Did I just get ripped off or is this a known scam around Albuquerque? Anyone have a legit sealer they actually trust in the Northeast Heights?

Real sealcoat takes longer than a few days to fully cure, so that flaking is doing it too fast, not normal.
