My neighbor on Menaul told me she's been here 40 years and never been to the Tram, that hit weird
I was out front pulling weeds last Saturday and my neighbor Rosa came over to talk. She mentioned she moved to Albuquerque in 1984 and has never once ridden the Sandia Peak Tramway. I asked why and she just shrugged and said it's for tourists. That sat with me for a few days because I've lived here 6 years and I've been up there 4 times. I started wondering how many people here have their own list of spots they never touch because it feels too obvious or too crowded. The Tram is $34 now for adults and I get that it adds up, but Rosa has grandkids who have never seen the city from up there. I told her I'd take her and she laughed and said maybe. So what's the local spot you've never actually done, the one that's basically in your backyard but you keep skipping? Curious if this is a real thing here or just Rosa being stubborn.
