I finally realized I was washing my car wrong for like 10 years

I used to just use dish soap and a sponge from the kitchen, thinking suds is suds lol. Then last month my neighbor came out while I was doing it and asked why I was stripping all the wax off. He pointed to the water beading on his car and showed me how mine was just flat. Now I use actual car soap and a microfiber mitt. Anyone else get called out for something simple like that?

Bought a nice chef's knife a few years back and was just throwing it in the dishwasher until a buddy saw me and nearly had a heart attack. Had no idea that was a problem.

My sister once put my fish spatula in the dishwasher and I didn't find out until the next time I tried to flip a salmon and it had this weird sticky coating on it. Took me forever to figure out what happened.
