Everyone in my neighborhood swore the guy on Central sold junk, then I bought a $40 bike from him
When I moved near Central and Louisiana about 4 years ago, folks kept telling me to skip the used bike guy who sets up on weekends. I figured it was all rusted trash, so I drove to a shop instead and paid way more. Last spring my car died and I needed to get to work, so I gave him a shot with $40 in my pocket. He handed me a solid Trek with new tires and told me to bring it back if anything felt off in two weeks. That bike got me to the bus stop every day for 7 months without one problem. Now I'm wondering how many other spots I wrote off just because of what people around here said. Anyone got a spot where the neighborhood gossip was totally wrong?
