Blew $200 on a new water heater install and it flooded my garage anyway

Bought a new water heater from the big box store on Eubank last month, paid a guy $200 to install it. He didn't tighten the drain valve enough and I woke up to an inch of water in my garage at 5 AM Monday. Cost me another $80 for a wet vac rental and a whole afternoon drying stuff out. Anyone else have bad luck with those quick install services?

Yeah @wendy_park76 it's both, but that service shouldn't be so hit-or-miss.

Gotta say, this sounds more like a bad contractor than a bad service. A quick install is only as good as the person doing it, and paying $200 sounds kinda cheap for legit work. Next time maybe check reviews or ask around before hiring someone random.
