That one Tuesday last month where everything went right for once
Had a service call in Oak Park for a DSC panel that kept giving false alarms. Got there at 8am, found a loose ground connection on the main board, fixed it in 10 minutes. Customer was so happy she offered me coffee and told me her last installer spent 2 hours and still didn't fix it. Then my next job was a new install at a small office, and the wiring layout matched the blueprint perfectly. Made it home by 3pm with a full paycheck. Has anyone else had a day where the stars just align like that?

Wait, am I the only one who thinks those perfect days are actually kind of a curse in disguise? Because @rosek44, I get what you're saying about the mounting holes lining up, but that kind of luck just sets you up to expect it every time, you know? Then the next three jobs are all a nightmare with stripped screws and mismatched wire colors, and you're sitting there wondering what you did wrong. I had one of those "perfect" Tuesdays about six months ago and spent the rest of the week paying for it with a blown transformer and a customer who swore I broke their thermostat. Those easy jobs are a trap man, they make you soft and then the real work hits you twice as hard.

Man I love hearing about days like that, they're so rare but sweet when they happen. I had one last spring where I was doing a panel swap for an old Vista 20 and the new panel's mounting holes lined up perfectly with the old ones, never happens for me. Then my second job was a straight forward smokes replacement, got in and out in 30 minutes, and the homeowner tipped me a twenty.
