Surprised by how many false alarms come from insects

I was reading through some stats from the monitoring center last week and found out that about 15% of false alarm calls in our area are caused by spiders and bugs getting into motion detectors. I always thought it was mostly user error or bad wiring. Found this in the monthly report from the central station in Phoenix. Has anyone else noticed more false trips during certain seasons?

15% seems high. I've had way more false alarms from bad wiring than bugs.

Wait, you've seriously had that many false alarms from bad wiring? That sounds like a nightmare honestly. My experience has been the opposite, where the bugs always seem to find a way to trip stuff no matter how careful I am. But yeah, if your wiring is that sketchy, I can see why 15% would feel way off to you. Hopefully you can get that sorted before it drives you completely nuts.
