Spent $200 on a cellular dialer and it saved my bacon on a remote cabin install

Ngl, I was cheaping out on cellular backups for years, but last month I did a cabin up in the mountains near Asheville. The customer wanted real peace of mind so I dropped $200 on a Honeywell 4G dialer instead of just using the landline. Landline went down in a storm three days later and the system still called out fine. Has anyone else had a cellular backup pay off like that?

Feels that, buddy. Nothing like a dead landline to prove your work was worth it.

Ha yeah @verafoster, nothing like fixing someone's phone line just in time for them to realize they haven't used it in 5 years. I spent 3 hours rewiring a whole block last month and the customer went "oh, I thought this was already disconnected." Classic. At least I got to feel like a hero for about 30 seconds before reality hit.
