Hot take: a homeowner flipped my whole panel view with one question about zones
Was wrapping up a 14-zone panel install in a split-level out in Beaverton when the guy asked me why his hallway sensor sat right across from the thermostat vent. I told him placement is just standard practice and he goes "so you put it where it's easy, not where the heat moves." That stuck with me because I've been mounting PIRs by the book for 6 months without thinking about airflow at all. Now I walk a room first and find the hot spots before I drill anything. Curious if you all place sensors by temp flow or just by the usual corner and entry spots?
