Hardwired vs wireless sensors for a big house - what's your pick?
I just finished a job outside of Portland on a 4,000 square foot house and had to choose between hardwired sensors or going full wireless with the new Honeywell stuff. I went hardwired because I figured it's more reliable long term, but man it took me an extra 2 days running all that wire through the attic. Has anyone else dealt with this choice and regretted not going the other way?

Hardwired means zero battery swaps in that attic space.

1600 square feet is a pretty small attic space to be running new wire through, especially if it's an older house like my 1920s bungalow. I'd take a battery swap twice a year over crawling around up there trying to fish romex, @hugo_jones.

Oh man, my buddy Tom had a 1920s house exactly like that (I helped him move furniture once and it was a nightmare). He decided to hardwire an attic light and spent a whole Saturday, like 8 hours, crawling on his hands and knees through that pink fiberglass insulation with a sweaty shirt on. He came out looking like a giant dust bunny with a few stray insulation fibers stuck in his hair for days. I'd take a battery swap twice a year over that any day, too.
