Tried safety wire with my old Milbar and a new pair of pliers, the cheap ones lost after 10 minutes
Last week I was doing a fuel pump swap on a Cessna 172 in Tulsa and grabbed my 20 year old Milbar wire twisters instead of the new no name pair from the tool truck. The old ones pulled a tight twist every single time with no kinks, while the new ones kept grabbing and snapping the .032 wire at the nut. Ended up going through a whole roll of safety wire just practicing on a scrap bracket. Anyone else had a cheap pair of twisters actually work out, or is it worth just paying up for the good stuff?
