Torque seal on every fastener isnt worth the hassle
I spent a Saturday last month putting torque seal on every bolt I touched during a 100-hour inspection. Turns out it just made the next guy second-guess my work, and we spent an hour chasing a phantom leak that was never there. I only seal critical hardware now and tell new mechanics to do the same. Anyone else ditch the over-marking habit?
Man, I gotta disagree on this one. That torque seal has saved my butt more than once when I'm doing a walkaround on a plane somebody else just worked on. Yeah it sucks when guys mark stuff they shouldn't, but I'd rather see too much than wonder if a bolt got missed.
