Rant: Hit 10,000 hours of field maintenance and nobody warned me about the shoulder

I just passed 10,000 hours doing line maintenance at DFW last week. It hit me out of nowhere when I did the math on my logbook. My right shoulder has been killing me for months and I didn't connect it until yesterday. Any other mechanics dealing with wear and tear from years of reaching into tight engine bays?

Man, that shoulder pain is no joke.

joel81 tell me about it, that stuff sticks around forever. Hope you get some ice on it soon, that's the only thing that helps me.

Oh come on, really? I gotta disagree with both of you here! Ice is overrated for shoulder stuff, @wade_perez. Heat is where it's at every time. You want to loosen up those tight muscles, not freeze them stiff. I've tried both and ice just makes everything clench up worse for me. Plus wrapping a warm towel or using a heating pad feels way better when you're trying to sleep or just zone out on the couch. But hey, we're all different bodies I guess.
