Forget sorting, the real risk is cross-contamination. Kitchen stuff has oils and food bits that could mess with the metal over time.

Totally see this everywhere! Home solutions just WORK for random tasks. My uncle sorted car parts with egg cartons once, it's wild how effective simple stuff can be.

In our hangar, every bolt gets logged with its torque spec and batch number. Using a kitchen method for that just seems risky when you are dealing with landing gear parts. Sure, a muffin tin might sort them by size, but that is not the same as proper traceability. I would not trust a system meant for cookies to keep a plane in the air.
