Museum trip made me appreciate old-school cable work

Stopped by the Hill Aerospace Museum last weekend and got to walk through the old B-52 cockpit section they have on display. What caught my eye was the bundles of wiring running through the bulkheads, all tied with those little cotton lacing cords instead of zip ties. It made me think about how much easier we have it now, but also how those guys made it work with just a knife and patience. Anyone else ever get inspired by looking at vintage aircraft up close?
