I switched from safety wire pliers to hand twisting on a Cherokee flap cable and got cleaner wraps
Had a flap cable job on a Cherokee 140 at our shop in Reno two weeks back and the pliers kept leaving little nicks right at the twist ends. A guy named Dale who has been turning wrenches for 31 years told me to just do it by hand with .032 wire and a good pair of duckbills. Took me 20 minutes instead of 8 but every wrap came out tight and even with no tool marks. Anyone else ditch the pliers for critical stuff like flight controls, or am I just slow?
