Had the worst Monday of my life last week on a 737 at ORD

Spent 8 hours chasing a bleed air leak on a 737-800 at gate B12, only to find it was just a loose clamp that a new hire missed during the last A-check. My lead just laughed and said "welcome to the trade, kid" when I told him. Has anyone else had a shift where nothing goes right until the last 5 minutes?

Wait, is that really what happened? I used to think those long maintenance hunts were always some complicated technical failure, but man, that loose clamp story changes my whole view. Like I always figured the new hires were being watched close enough, but I guess stuff slips through the cracks sometimes. It's wild how you can spend almost a whole shift tearing your hair out over something that dumb. Honestly that kind of thing would drive me crazy too, but I bet you learned more from that one clamp than from a hundred boring manuals. Sounds like your lead was right, sometimes the simple stuff is the hardest to catch.

Hey @jesse_craig26, have you ever had a fix that simple make you feel stupid and relieved at the same time? For me it was a ground wire that the last guy forgot to tighten.
