Showerthought: I burned $180 on an AI headshot tool and my real photos still look better
Last week I paid $180 for one of those AI headshot services that promise professional photos from a few selfies. I sent in 12 pictures like they asked, and two days later I got back 40 images. The problem is every single one had this weird waxy skin and my glasses looked like they were painted on with a brush. I tried to use one on LinkedIn anyway, and my coworker in Austin messaged me asking if I had gotten sick because I looked "off." I ended up going back to the free photo my neighbor took on her phone in her backyard. The whole thing took me about an hour of uploading plus two days of waiting, and I got nothing usable out of it. Has anyone found one of these tools that actually gets glasses and skin right, or is this just how they all work right now?
