Question about AI nannies tracking too much family data

They can record private chats without you knowing.

My friend bought one of those smart baby monitors last year. He found out it was saving audio clips from their living room to some company server. They had no idea it was recording all the time, even during private family talks. Now he's stuck trying to delete the data and worried about who has it. Stuff like that makes you think twice about letting these devices into your home.

But doesn't every new tech come with a trade-off? The safety and peace of mind from knowing you can check on your kid from anywhere is pretty huge for a lot of parents. Most companies just use that data to make the product work better, not to listen to your conversations.

Wait, did you say it was saving audio from their living room without telling them? That's insane. Green.river talks about trade-offs for safety, but secretly recording family chats crosses a line. It's one thing to check on a baby, another to have a company's server full of your private talks. That just feels wrong.
