Just realized AI voice cloning killed my dead grandpa's voicemail trick
I used to keep my grandpa's old answering machine recording saved on my phone for like 8 years. It was the only thing I had left of his voice. Last week I tried one of those voice cloning apps out of curiosity, typed in a sentence he used to say, and it came out so perfect it actually freaked me out. Now that old recording doesnt feel special anymore because anyone could fake it in 5 minutes. Has anyone else felt this weird loss after seeing how easy voice cloning is now?

That recording still means something though... the difference is that voice came from your grandpa naturally, not from some app. Nobody can take that memory away just because technology got weird.
