I finally saw the difference between a basic AI image generator and one with fine-tuned control
I was working on a graphic for a local Denver cafe and used a free online tool first. It gave me a generic coffee cup. Then I tried Stable Diffusion with a specific LoRA model trained on vintage diner aesthetics. The second image had the exact 1950s chrome and color palette I needed. The control from the specialized model made all the difference. Has anyone else found that a niche model beats a general one for specific projects?

That "fine-tuned control" thing is everywhere... like how a regular screwdriver works but you need the exact right bit for a specific job.

Ngl, I feel personally attacked by this metaphor. I've got a drawer full of random bits from IKEA furniture and I swear none of them match anything. Went to change a cabinet handle last week, ended up with a screwdriver that was almost the right size but not quite. Stripped the screw so bad the handle is now held on by hope and a prayer. Honestly, that's the story of my life with tools.

That "exact right bit" thing... I used to think one tool could do it all but you're totally right.
