Fell for that AI writing assistant that promised 10x productivity
Bought a year subscription to some AI writing tool for $240 after a YouTuber raved about it. All it does is spit out generic blog posts I have to rewrite anyway. Who else wasted money on hype instead of just sticking with free stuff like ChatGPT?

Hate to say it but free ChatGPT has limits too. You get throttled after a few hours and the quality drops once you hit the free tier cap. I've been stuck mid-conversation more times than I'd like. For casual use it's fine, but if you rely on it for work or consistent output the paid version saves headaches.

The throttling is real and it's brutal when you're in the middle of something important. I've had it cut me off while I was editing a long document and I lost all the context I'd built up over the last hour or so. The free tier is basically a teaser that works great until you actually need it for something time sensitive. And the quality drop isn't just about speed either, I noticed the responses get way more generic and repetitive once you've hit that invisible cap. It's the kind of thing that's fine for messing around but if you're trying to get actual work done, you'll feel the squeeze eventually.
