He fed 3 years of growth data and storm damage reports into some free model and it spit out a plan that matched what my crew does by hand. Are you all actually using these things for real work or just messing around with them?

A buddy of mine runs a small landscaping outfit and he's been plugging soil moisture readings into one of these models all spring. Says it caught a fungus risk two weeks before he would have noticed on his own, saved a whole row of shrubs. That's not messing around, that's a real tool. The catch is you still need someone who knows what they're looking at to check the output. Feed it junk data and you'll get a junk plan with a fancy bow on it. So yeah, people are using them, but the ones getting results already knew their trade first.
